As a parent who has recently guided both my son and daughter through their transition into adulthood, I've experienced firsthand the challenges and gaps in practical knowledge they faced. From the basics of filling out an apartment application and managing finances to the complexities of time management and budgeting, I saw the essential skills that weren't addressed in their formal education. This realization was a turning point for me, inspiring me to create this course. Drawing on my adult children's experiences and my own, plus hands-on activities, I provide relatable, real-life examples of navigating the challenges of the class topics.

My goal is to share these crucial life lessons, combining my personal insights with professional expertise, to prepare teens for the realities of adult life. Adulting 101 isn't just a course; it's a collection of the essential wisdom and skills I wish my adult children had learned sooner, now offered to help your teen navigate the exciting journey of adulthood with confidence and success!

𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆! Besides the regular ongoing, weekly class, I also teach Adulting 101 and Adulting 102 self-paced courses for those who want a flexible schedule or want to work at their own pace.

I have been teaching teens for over 25 years and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in addition to degrees in English, Writing, Music, and a Master’s Degree in Education. My courses are designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world financial skills, addressing the lack of practical resources available to prepare teens for their financial futures.

Throughout my teaching career, I have developed courses focused on equipping learners with essential skills such as budgeting, understanding credit, managing debt, navigating taxes, and planning for major life milestones like renting an apartment or buying a car. My approach emphasizes real-life applications, ensuring that learners not only understand the concepts but also feel confident applying them in everyday situations!

I am passionate about empowering teens to make informed financial decisions and take charge of their futures. My teaching style is patient and encouraging, with a focus on simplifying complex topics into manageable, actionable steps. These courses are designed for all types of learners and abilities, offering a supportive environment where learners can gain practical knowledge and build confidence in their financial skills.
