Through live video lessons learners will use their imaginations to be different characters and create different 'worlds' developing a strong understanding of how characters are used to tell a story and often times a bigger message is revealed in their relationships. Week of January 14th- Drama from Picture Books: We will use the picture book, 'The Rainbow Fish' as a drama prompt. Week of January 21st-The acting game, 'Hand Animals' will be used to introduce theater techniques. Week of January 28th- A Tree Grows: Physical Theater- Acting out the lifestage of a tree Week of February 4th-Painting the Box- A narrative pantomine about personal space and visualizing colors Week of February 11th- Rainforests- Theater games and explorations with rainforest themes Week of February 4th- No You Can't Take Me- A fun Crticial Thinking Theater Game Week of February 18th-The Lion King's Court- A role-playing game about friendship and animals (not related to Disney) Week of February 25th-Seasons and Weather- A Theater Game that explores seasons and weather Week of March 4th - Coming Together- A narrative pantomine about space Week of March 11th-Saint George and the Dragon- used as a drama prompt Week of March 18th- Rhyme Charades- A theater game of rhyme and pantomime Week of March 25th - Around the World in 30 minutes- And imaginary journey that explores geography and cultures Week of April 1st-Ben Franklin's Inventions- A physical creativity game -Week of April 8th Sculpture Gallery- A Freeze Game of posing and creating that allows learners to be creative from the inside out. -Week of April 15th Mirror Mirror Learners will have fun with mirroring exercises -Week of April 22nd Found Objects Puppets-Learners will have fun using everyday items as puppets -Week of April 29th Lunchbag Puppets- Learners will be able to make paper bag puppets and explore the story, 'Paper Bag Princess' - Week of May 6th Paper Doll Theater- Students will create and manipulate paper doll puppets

Though this class focuses more on acting than dance, we still move our bodies. With that in mind please ensure that your learner has enough space to stand and move around and is wearing proper footwear. We will warm-up together at the beginning of each class. Feel free to have a water bottle on hand as well just in case it's needed. Thank you!
