1-2 horas por semana. Homework will be assigned each day by giving students practice problems from real past ACT math portions of the exam that relate to the topics covered each day of the class. Students will be encouraged to time themselves solving problems to assess their solving time as well as to check for any possible mistakes. Each homework will take between 40-70 minutes.Experiencia de clase

This class is structured with a lecture based format as well as a call and response format that is incorporated throughout. Each day will include room for discussion and questions should any arise. The layout of each day and the topics covered each day are listed below. Note that the time schedule will be adjusted if students need more time on a specific topic or question. Reminder that this class is a review of topics and a connection to how they will be presented and formatted. Students are expected to have some knowledge of the topics covered. DAY 1: Level Green 5/10mins: Introduction, discuss what classes students have taken and if they have taken the ACT before 40/50mins: Lecture/Discussion/Practice Go over questions with examples from each topic that are considered "rudimentary" with which we will go over how to approach these and the different ways to solve them from PreAlgebra, Algebra1, Algebra2, Geometry, and PreCalculus ie: straightforward, quick solving time, multiple ways of solving, most common discussed topics and formulas etc 5/10mins: Questions/Discussion Where we will discuss what was covered, answer any questions the students may have, start to work on the homework together (if there is any time left) Homework: 50-70mins Practice problems from each topic in level green (similar to layout of lecture) 20 problems total: 2 Stat/Prob, 4 Prealg, 4 Alg1, 4 Alg2, 3 Geo, 3 Precalc Students are to complete these problems for homework (they are encouraged to time themselves when working on this to determine how long each problem will take as well as get used to being timed). DAY 2: Level Yellow 5/10mins: Review Reviewing the answers from the homework/worksheet of the previous day and answer any questions that may arise 45/50mins: Lecture/Discussion/Practice Go over questions with examples from each topic that are considered "intermediate" with which we will go over how to approach these and the different ways to solve them from PreAlgebra, Algebra1, Algebra2, Geometry, and PreCalculus ie: multiple step equations, a few word problem examples, not as many process options to be able to solve, involvement of more complicated formulas etc 5/10mins: Questions/Discussion Where we will discuss what was covered, answer any final questions the students may have, start to work on the homework together (if there is any time left) Homework: 50-60mins Practice problems from each topic in level yellow (similar to layout of lecture) 15 problems total: 2 Stat/Prob, 3 Prealg, 3 Alg1, 3 Alg2, 2 Geo, 2 Precalc Students are to complete these problems for homework (they are encouraged to time themselves when working on this to determine how long each problem will take as well as get used to being timed). DAY 3: Level Red 5/10mins: Review Reviewing the answers from the homework/worksheet of the previous day and answer any questions that may arise 45/50mins: Lecture/Discussion/Practice Go over questions with examples from each topic that are considered "advanced" with which we will go over how to approach these and the different ways to solve them from PreAlgebra, Algebra1, Algebra2, Geometry, and PreCalculus ie: many word problems with misleading information, trick answer choices, problems with processes that take longer to solve, more advanced and sometimes obscure formulas, equations/processes with only variables, heavier evaluation of answers, etc 5/10mins: Questions/Discussion Where we will discuss what was covered, answer any final questions the students may have, start to work on the homework together (if there is any time left) Homework: 50-60mins Practice problems from each topic in level red (similar to layout of lecture) 11 problems total: 2 Stat/Prob, 2 Prealg, 2 Alg1, 2 Alg2, 2 Geo, 1 Precalc Students are to complete these problems for homework (they are encouraged to time themselves when working on this to determine how long each problem will take as well as get used to being timed). DAY 4: Facts and Tips 5/10mins: Review Reviewing the answers from the homework/worksheet of the previous day and answer any questions that may arise 45/50min: Lecture/Discussion/Practice Go over the layout of the ACT, break down the grading for exam, what is new with the online ACT vs the paper ACT, tips for practicing on your own, specifically going over common practicing mistakes, general testing tips to help day of the exam and during the exam 5/10mins: Wrap Up/Discussion Where we will discuss what was covered, answer any final questions the students may have Discussion of what the students learned and what they think will benefit them the most, conclusion of the whole class
