This class is self-paced, where students progress at their own pace. It does not include live classes, but it is very interactive. I will use visuals, mnemonics, real-world examples, discussion, games, and guided notes to ensure a deep understanding. I strive to make learning fun and instill confidence in each student. You will receive two recorded lessons each week, along with interactive lessons that use Nearpod, Classkick, or Desmos. Students will receive an interactive lesson (Nearpod, Classkick, or Desmos) to complete alongside the recorded lesson. Feedback will be submitted no later than Friday, but usually within 24 hours. I will assist students with specific questions within 24 hours. Overview The ACT (American College Testing) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. The ACT is designed to assess a high school student's readiness for college and is used by many colleges and universities as part of their admissions process. It is: A comprehensive college readiness test that includes a STEM score. - Based on high school curriculum. - An opportunity for students to qualify for scholarships. - An effective tool to help ensure students are placed in the right classes in college. Sections English: Tests grammar and usage skills. Math: Assesses mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Reading: Evaluates reading comprehension. Science: Measures interpretation, analysis, evaluation, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in the natural sciences. Writing (Optional): Requires students to write an essay. *For this particular class, we will only be covering English and Math sections.* Other sections will be available in the future if requested. I do not drill. If students want extra practice, I can recommend books or websites and provide more exercises. The focus of this class is a deep understanding of the curriculum and the confidence it instills.
