Welcome to 4th-grade math summer camp where math becomes an adventure! Over the course of four weeks, we'll explore a variety of topics in 4th-grade math, from multiplication and division to fractions and geometry. Each class is 40 minutes long, and we'll meet twice a week for a total of eight sessions. Get ready to embark on a journey filled with math challenges and fun! Week 1Lesson 1MultiplicationStudents will learn and practice multiplying 2- to 3-digit numbers, building confidence with multiplication.Lesson 2DivisionStudents will be introduced to long division and learn how to solve division problems, including word problems.Week 2Lesson 3Place Value & Number SenseStudents will delve into the place value system, understanding the value of each digit in a number based on its position. They'll practice identifying and writing numbers in expanded form, as well as comparing and rounding numbers using place value concepts. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve a variety of place value questions with confidence.Lesson 4Factors & multiplesStudents will explore the concepts of factors and multiples, starting with identifying factors of given numbers. They'll learn how to find the greatest common factor (GCF) and understand the difference between prime and composite numbers. The class will also cover prime factorization, where students will break down numbers into their prime factors.Week 3Lesson 5FractionStudents will learn fundamental of fractions, adding and subtracting fractions & working with both like and unlike fractions.Lesson 6Converting Fractions to DecimalsStudents will learn how to convert fractions into decimals, reinforcing their understanding of both concepts.Week 4Lesson 7Introduction to Geometric ShapesLine, angles, shapes & learn formulasLesson 8Introduction to Perimeter and AreaStudents will learn the finding the perimeter and area of different shapes.
