This course will help learners understand basic genetics, or how their bodies store information and use that information to make unique physical features. It will cover the difference between genes, DNA, and chromosomes. We will also learn about heredity and the basic building blocks of genetics (also known as the Central Dogma of Biology). Understanding these steps will help learners visualize the path the body uses from information storage to physical characteristics.

This course will be taught in a lecture/discussion style, with plenty of interaction between the learners and instructor (questions are always encouraged!) Engaging and relevant visuals in a PowerPoint style will also be utilized. Learners are not required to have any previous knowledge of genetics, just an interest in learning about a new, revolutionary field of science!
