1-2 horas por semana. Students will be responsible for reading the chapters at home ahead of class time for the week to be prepared for class discussion and activities. Please see the above schedule.

Over a period of 5 weeks, learners will read and discuss Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing using critical thinking skills and other literary devices to deepen their understanding of the story. They will answer questions about the story, compare and contrast characters and events, and summarize what they read. Learners will also look for details and descriptive words that give readers visuals or pictures in their mind. Learners will analyze characters and their actions and how they grow and change throughout the story. They will give examples of these character changes as we move through the story. Learners will learn about and be able to identify examples of other literary elements each week. Learners will also learn the about the important things in life and not to take them for granted. They will also discuss and compare/contrast the sibling relationships in the story to their own sibling relationships if they have them.

This novel study will be presented by slideshows and novel study sheets uploaded onto the classroom for each class. Students will be responsible for reading the chapters in the book ahead of time each week to prepare for class. Class time will be spent discussing, answering questions, analyzing characters, and completing other literary activities over the chapters according to our weekly schedule below.

Please be aware that we will discuss what the time period was like that the story is set in. It is set in the 1970s New York when life was a lot different. We will also read about and discuss sibling rivalry and arguments, etc.
