In this one time class, learners of all genders will discover a group of women whose talent propelled science forward. They will discover, with an objective view, the meaning of their contribution, which in most cases, are still valid in today's astronomy. We will start by introducing Hypatia, who, according to Waithe, 1987 [1] and Booth, 2017 [2] was an extraordinarily talented astronomer. Some of the other women we will discuss are Caroline Hershel, Wang Zhenyi and an incredible group of Women called "human computers". They used to work at Harvard Observatory and made incredible discoveries in the field of astronomy [3]. We will continue the class with modern women in astronomy, including the woman who won the Nobel Prize in Astrophysics in 2020.

Although this class is lecture based, and I will be using a power point presentation, students are encouraged to ask questions at any time, and have discussions on the topics we are introducing. Some of the contributions of these women, which we will be discuss in class, are related to the ways astronomers classify stars, how astronomers measure distance in the universe, how astronomers know about dark matter, and many more research topics led by these women. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of Astronomy. My goal for this class is that students not only meet this wonderful women, but also understand the amazing work they did in the field of astronomy.
