This ongoing course will cover the basics of the Common Core Sixth Grade Math Standards. We recommend that students who are either entering sixth grade or who have just completed sixth grade enroll in this course. However, if you feel your child is excelling in math and needs a challenge, please feel free to enroll them! This Summer course will be a great opportunity to get a head start on sixth math concepts or gain more individualized practice for students who have just completed sixth...
- Students will: 1. Use ratio and rate reasoning to calculate unit rate. 2. Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems. 3. Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems. 4. Solve real-world problems involving division of fractions by fractions. 5. Graph and find vertical/horizontal distances on a coordinate plane. 6. Write, read, and evaluate expressions in which letters stand for numbers. 7.Generate equivalent expressions using properties of operations. 8.Write, read, and evaluate expressions in which letters stand for numbers. 9. Represent and analyze quantitative relationships between dependent and independent variables. 10. Calculate the area to solve real-world and mathematical problems.
