This is a course where we will go over Singapore Math Methods for 6B for sixth graders to help them develop advanced math techniques. We will be using our Hello Math! curriculum. Recommended for homeschoolers or as an after school supplement class. ---- CLASS EXPERIENCE The student will be guided through different example problems in a way that builds up their understanding. We use worksheets to help guide instruction. These are organized so that students learn valuable mental math techniques, and number sense, and develop a deeper understanding of math. We will teach new material and have them practice what we teach. If a student asks an excellent question or is unsure about something we may have a class discussion to talk about it. Students can ask questions by raising their hands or using the classroom chat function. Our teachers give plenty of time for students to go over the core problems and the rest is left for homework. There will be different topics covered in each session based on who is present, but the main idea is to cover the concepts, word problems, and practice during each session. While it is based on a specific book series, please let me know if you have a different one. ---- PRE-REQUISITES AND PLACEMENT TEST Prior knowledge recommended: Singapore Math Methods 5 (numbers up to 10 million, fractions, multiplication, ratios, area, and geometry, rates, triangles) To see if this class is a good fit for your student, please take this assessment test: 6A: https://tanwo5us.paperform.co/ 6B: https://elgu64vw.paperform.co/ ---- COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGE (CEFR) LEVEL Intermediate (B2) ---- CLASS TOPICS Kindly refer to the link below for the detailed schedule.
