Grammar rules are often learned early in our life through speaking, reading and writing. But, we don’t always know the why and how. I enjoy teaching grammar to older students who have a light bulb moment by looking at a rule in a new light. We will break down one rule or section and study it in-depth. We will also learn by looking at the wrong examples we see every day. Once a student begins learning and connecting the dots, they will become fascinated. English is not an easy language but it is important to know proper writing and usage even in today’s electronic world. Week of September 28 - October 4: Articles: a, an, the and zero article Week of October 5 - October 11: Fun with Homonyms Week of October 12 - October 18: To, Two and Too Week of October 19 - October 25: Onomatopoeia Week of October 26 - November 1: Should & Supposed To Week of November 2 - 8: Who? Whom? Whose? Week of November 9 - 15: Reflexive Pronouns Using live video meetings, printable worksheets, and fun classroom activities, we will learn more about our language. Learning and sharing together will build strong connections within our study group. Classroom participation is up to the student. They may want to watch and absorb all the information. They may be shy at first and work up to actively participating. They may be ready to share their opinions from the first moment of class. All learners will find a warm, supportive learning environment.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Licenciatura en Psicología desde University of Tennessee
I am certified to teach beginning and advanced grammar for ESL students. During my time teaching grammar to non-native speakers, I have learned how fascinating our language can be. I have taught hundreds of students but love working with older students. They enjoy finding out why they build sentences and write the way they do.
