Grado de EE. UU. 4
This class focuses on teaching fundamental concepts of Math for 4th grade students on an ongoing basis. The topics covered in the class will rotate throughout the year to provide review and practice. Each week, a specific math topic will be introduced and taught in-depth over the course of three sessions to ensure a solid understanding. The class will then move on to a new topic the following week. If you need financial help please reach out and inquire if we have any scholarship spots available. Here are some examples of the types of math topics that will be covered during the year: Place Value and Number Sense: Understanding the value of digits in different places, comparing and ordering numbers, rounding, and estimating. Addition and Subtraction: Strategies for adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers, regrouping, and word problem-solving. Multiplication and Division: Introduction to multiplication as repeated addition, understanding division as sharing or grouping, and learning multiplication and division facts. Fractions: Identifying and representing fractions, comparing fractions, equivalent fractions, and basic fraction operations. Geometry: Basic geometry concepts like shapes, angles, symmetry, and basic spatial reasoning. Measurement: Converting units of measurement, understanding length, weight, volume, and solving measurement word problems. Time and Money: Reading analog and digital clocks, calculating elapsed time, and working with money and decimals. Data and Graphs: Collecting and organizing data, creating and interpreting different types of graphs, and drawing conclusions. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Developing problem-solving skills through various mathematical challenges and puzzles. Patterns and Relationships: Recognizing and analyzing patterns, sequences, and relationships between numbers. The class is structured to be engaging and interactive, fostering social interactions among students. It employs a child-led approach to learning, adapting the teaching style to cater to the needs and interests of each student. The use of games, hands-on activities, and discussions aims to ensure high levels of engagement and progression. Homework assignments will be provided for additional math practice, and teachers will be available to answer questions and provide feedback on the homework. Students who are enrolled for the school year will receive progress reports every 4 weeks if requested. Here is a breakdown of the topics you will learn each week.
