Welcome to Ms. Abby's 4th Grade Learning Path! This class is scheduled for 2.5 hours a day, Monday through Thursday. In this class, we will work on both 3rd and 4th grade skills. The curriculum is designed to build social skills and cover various subjects suitable for 3rd graders transitioning into 4th grade. Please note that lessons will be based on the same theme for two weeks at a time. During these periods, we will have ongoing projects and assignments related to our theme. The only exception to this schedule is the last two weeks in December. Subjects covered in this class include writing, reading, science, cooking, math, social studies, geography, and arts and crafts. Learners will build skills, develop friendships, and embark on fun adventures with different books. Ms. Abby will post a weekly note listing the supplies, worksheets, and spelling words that learners will need. Daily Supplies: Writing tools (pencils, pens, paper) Provided worksheets Device for Kahoot Learners will need to log in to Kahoot daily. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello, and welcome to my class! I'm Abby. I have over 30 years experience working with children ages 2-16. For many years, I was the co-owner, director of instruction, and lead teacher for J & A Daycare Center. I also have many years of experience caring for and teaching children through nannying and private home daycare, including children on the autism spectrum. (I have such a heart for children with special needs!) For the past five years, it has been my joy to homeschool my 20-year-old daughter. It is exciting to see her thriving and enjoying learning!
My teaching style is warm, creative, and fun. I am passionate about teaching young children! I love to encourage children and make sure they feel welcome. My goal for my classes is for every child to walk away smiling and feeling like they had a good time!
My husband, daughter and I make our home in Athens, GA. I enjoy wood painting, coloring, cooking, and crafts. I am so excited to meet and teach your child!
