Nivel Beginner
In this asynchronous course, beginner violin students will learn how to successfully prepare and play 3 common and important folk tunes. We will begin by reviewing basic violin technique including left and right hand positions. We will review the basic notes D, E, F#, G, and A as well as basic rhythms quarter note, half note, whole note, eighth notes, and rests. We will put all this together in sequence to learn 3 basic folk tunes including "Hot Cross Buns," "Pierrot," and "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Some of the teaching methods used will be demonstration, repetition, call and response (echo playing), and solfeg singing. Because the course is a pre-recorded lesson, students can work at their own pace and review the material as much as needed.

Requisitos previos
Students should be in their 1st year of violin lessons with either a private teacher or in a school music program. Students should be familiar with playing the notes D, E, F#, G, and A. Bow skills not required but preferred.
