Throughout this 10 week course your little leaders will be reviewing various second grade topics. For example: basic addition/subtraction, place value/number sense, regrouping using addition/subtraction, counting money, 2D/3D shapes, and more! 

By attending this class each week they should hopefully have a better understanding of second grade math concepts. It will be taught at the beginning of each class and then reviewed throughout the remainder of the course. Once a topic is taught we will continue to check on that skill again during each class session. By the end I hope your little leader has developed more confidence for these math skills!

Week 1-Number Sense/Place Value/Expanded Form
Week 2-Skip Counting/Repeated Addition
Week 3-Even & Odd
Week 4-Addition & Subtraction within 100
Week 5-Addition & Subtraction within 1000
Week 6-2D & 3D Shapes
Week 7-Partitioning Shapes
Week 8-Counting Coins
Week 9-Measurement
Week 10-Graphing

I teach in a positive and respectful learning environment. I believe it is important to make each student feel our sense of classroom community even if it is a virtual class. Everything will be whole group since this is a group session but I will individually help and check with those who need!

The layout of the class will begin with an introduction into the topic for that week, a short video if necessary, an explanation of the concept, continued practice using an interactive game with that topic, questions that are welcome throughout the lesson, and ending with a better understanding of the concept!
