In this 20 minute class, your child will get some one on one time with a certified resource teacher with 22 years experience in the teaching field for 10 weeks! This class can be taught in French or in English. Depending on your child's needs, we will go over letter sounds, complex sounds, reading fluidity, reading comprehension. Because this is an individualized class, it might look different for every child. We will read small stories and go over difficult words. I encourage students to repeat after me when the words are difficult to pronounce. For beginner readers, I sometimes read first and then get the child to repeat. For more advanced learners, the students can read on their own out loud and I will help them with difficult words or with a breech in comprehension. No matter the child's age, anyone who struggles with reading will benefit from this session. It is a safe space for students who are shy to read in front of a group due to their difficulties. This class can also be for students wanting to practice reading even if they don't necessarily struggle. In that case, we can go over other reading skills like deduction and highlighting the important themes in each paragraph, for example. 
I also enjoy taking three or four minutes at the end of each class to play a little word game, vocabulary game or guessing game to keep things interesting. This is a list of what will be addressed each week:

Week 4: Working on reading fluidity
Week 5: Working on comprehension with practice texts 
Week 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10: Reviewing comprehension of past texts and practicing fluidity, comprehension and vocabulary using new texts
