During this one to one class, your student will get a personalized, individual tutoring session based upon their needs. I can also assist your student with homework assignments if necessary. My main focus is on their English and Reading skills but I am capable of helping them with other subjects as well. I will assess each students' needs and base the curriculum on what they need assistance in. We will practice close reading together. This is a way to get students to be comfortable using annotation and critical thinking while they read. Close reading is a great way to help your student connect with the reading material rather than just read because they have to. Your student will gain fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills as we read out loud together in class. 

Class will be structured in a way to keep students interested throughout class. We will complete reading activities, play games, discuss our thoughts on the readings and much more during our time together. There will be ample opportunity for the student to express their own thoughts and ideas as we use our critical thinking skills to analyze various reading materials. 

I strive to create a positive environment where students have fun while learning. As a patient teacher with a passion for reading and writing, I would love to share the knowledge I have acquired with the students I teach. My goal is to treat each student as an individual while they are attending my classes. I use many different teaching methods to ensure each child will learn based on their own learning styles.
