Sometimes students need a little one-on-one help to get that light bulb moment in Spanish. In this one-time tutoring session, I will get to know your learner's needs, and help clarify a concept of their choosing. (Parents/guardians, please email me which concept your learner needs at least 24 hours before the session so I can come prepared to maximize our time together and help your learner gain the most confidence possible!) I love working with students of all ages and levels to help them become confident in their Spanish skills, and excited to use them! You may want to work on: -a grammar concept (like conjugating -AR verbs, boot verbs, preterit past tense, adjective agreement, etc.) -vocabulary learning skills (I will help your learner develop a variety of strategies to help them identify which way works the best for them!) -or to practice extending your Spanish speaking in some different guided conversation prompts (like what is your favorite restaurant, and why, or to tell me about a time that you had the most fun with friends, what you would do with a million dollars, etc.). Sessions can also be booked as an ongoing class to continue to develop your Spanish skills. Please email me with any questions, or to request an alternate time.

Hello, and thanks for checking out my page! I am a certified teacher with a K-12 teaching degree in Spanish teaching. I am looking forward to providing classes to help students learn Spanish for the first time, develop their existing skills to take their language to the next level, and also provide other fun class offerings of my other passions including drama and tap dance!
Each of these areas have been a passion of mine that I am excited to share with you! Here is my background in each:
Spanish: I always enjoyed taking Spanish classes, and had the experience of that magical teacher who inspired me to want to share the joy of learning Spanish with others! I received my Bachelors of Arts in the Teaching of Spanish from the University of Illinois, where I spent a semester doing a homestay in Granada, Spain. I continued my studies of how to be an effective language teacher with a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to the University of Manchester, England, where I received my Masters degree in Languages and Linguistics. I love working with students in elementary through high school to help them become confident in their language learning!
Drama: I worked in a local park district drama camp that produced student musicals each summer for many years. I actively participate in community theatre musicals, and can help you learn how to audition confidently, and have fun expressing yourself! I have completed the improv training (classes A-E) at Second City in Chicago, and enjoy bringing acting to my students through choreographing a musical, and founding a Performing Arts Club at my school.
Tap: I have been tap dancing since I was 2! I love to keep working on my skills with regular tap and ballet classes, and would love to help you learn the basics, or enhance your skills through some fun routines and new moves!
My teaching philosophy is I believe in the value of connecting to students by learning who they are, and helping them grow from where they are starting! I believe all students can learn and develop their skills, and I can help make these classes fun and rewarding. I hope to see you there!Reseñas
