As both a teacher and a parent, I know how frustrating and discouraging it can be to see students struggle with their learning. Math was always the most challenging subject for me as a learner, but as a teacher it's one of my favorites to teach! I love trying to make math understandable and accessbile, and I know what an important element confidence can be in helping students succeed. Twenty years of teaching experience have provided me with a number of strategies to help your learner feel successful. 
 
In order to help prepare me for our first session, please provide as much information about your learner and their needs as you can. This will help me be prepared to help them. What grade are they currently in? Will they have their own work/homework they need help with, or should I have some work prepared for them? What specific topic in math would you like me to work on with them (rather than saying "fractions" it's more helpful if I know "They need help adding fractions with uncommon denominators.")
