 Week 1
Lesson 1
Vocal and Music Terminology and Vocal Discovery
This lesson will teach you about the most common terms that voice teachers, and music directors will use with students. In this lesson I will also assess your vocal range, voice part, and vocal abilities. Then we will begin to develop some vocal exercises specific to your needs.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Vocal Techniques
In this lesson we will discuss and then practice good posture, breathing techniques, vocal skills, and switching between head voice, chest voice, and attempt mixed voice.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Ear-training, Sight-singing, and Solfeggio
This lesson will provide a basic introduction to Solfeggio and explain why so many schools teach students to read music this way. We will learn and practice pitch through a variety of exercises and include some ear-training practice as well.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Singing The Vowels and Consonants
In this lesson students will learn the classical method for how main vowels and consonants are song in the classical style. However they will also learn how and why this method is not used in certain other styles. Students will have the ability to practice changing their pronunciation on a song to match various styles so that they understand how to achieve the sound they need for a specific song. Here we will introduce an easy classical piece for practice as well.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Practice Makes Perfect, Singing an Unknown Song
In this lesson students will learn how to break down a song piece by piece and work on the parts that are the most challenging for them. We will do this through the assigned song given the week before as they practice their clear vowels and crisp consonants on the traditional round. ( Advance option, for some they will expand their ear-training by learning how to sing a "round" with their own vocals. )
 Week 6
Lesson 6
The Art of Story-telling, Learning How to Use Tempo and Dynamic Changes
In this lesson students will be introduced to tempo and dynamic terms and how they appear within songs on sheet music. We will also discuss a loved song of the student and try to identify where the dynamics and tempo changed to help tell a story. Then a Musical Theater Piece will be introduced for practice. The student may chose any musical theater piece that is within their current vocal range to practice.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Practicing A Musical Theater Piece
In this lesson the student will begin live practice and feedback on a musical theater song of their choice. They will also analyze how they warm up for such a song based on specifics we will go over in class.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Singing In Multiple Styles of Music
During this class students will learn how to practicing singing phrases in more than one "style". They will be taught basic techniques that aid them in making the best vocal sound to match a particular style and story.
 Week 9
Lesson 9
Student Song Choice
In the prior lesson a student will have been given an assignment to chose a song that stretches them, but still doable. The teacher will given several suggestions if needed and then during this lesson they will practice it piece by piece.
 Week 10
Lesson 10
Review, Performance, Assessment.
In our final lesson the student will sing a few vocal exercises, have a short quiz regarding the topics and terms covered in the class, and be assessed on a simple sight-reading exercise, and them perform their song. Afterward they will receive encouraging feedback detailing everything they excelled on and guidance towards areas that may still need a little more practice. Extra resources and suggestions will likely be sent in the classroom as well.

*Professional Summary* 

Anne Martin began her career as a singing at the age of 13, recorded 3 CD's before her 21st birthday and has sung in several professional choirs, musical theater productions, and special events in multiple states across the US over the course of the last 25 years. She graduated with a degree in Music with a focus in Voice, and has been teaching music for over 10 years, both privately and in the Florida Public Schools.  

Since earning her degree, she has also received the Voice Teacher Certification from New York Vocal Coaching after training 50 hours with renowned founder Justin Stoney. 

She currently resides in Florida and has appeared twice at the Tampa Bay Rays stadium to sing the National Anthem, has been in productions at both Manatee and Sarasota Players Theaters, was a member of Sarasota's professional Choral Artists, and in 2021 sang in Epcot's Candlelight Processional at Walt Disney World. 

 In addition to those solo endeavors, she has been singing around the state for special events with her husband since 2018 and they are known as "The Martin Duo".  They work as voice-over artists for Worldbook where she can be heard voicing several characters for children's graphic novel audiobooks.
