Mindfulness is an essential skill that can benefit young children, building their self-confidence and helping them succeed in school and in life. 

In this one-on-one class, I will be working only with your child, catering my lessons and activities to your individual child's age and mindfulness journey. I have a playful and engaging approach, using fun mindfulness exercises and creative activities that will motivate and help your child to explore the art of staying present and enhance their ability to focus and pay attention.

My teaching style is extremely patient and thoughtful. I am focused on creating a nurturing and supportive environment where your child can feel comfortable learning simple and easy to use mindfulness techniques that they can integrate into their daily routines so that they have the tools to handle each day as it comes. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University, earned a Master's in Early Childhood Education, and have over 20 years of experience teaching and working with young students.

Through our one-on-one sessions together, your child will improve their attention span and focus, increase their emotional awareness, increase their feelings of compassion toward themselves and others, and learn to enjoy the beauty of life in the present moment. 

By learning and then integrating mindfulness into their daily lives, your child can develop a stronger sense of self and a more positive outlook, all of which contribute to greater self-confidence. 

Each week we will work on new techniques and build on what your child has learned in the previous sessions. 

Skills and techniques we will work on in our sessions include:

🌟 learning how to focus through mindful listening and mindful observation exercises
🌟 practicing breathing exercises and developing self-awareness 
🌟 recognizing different emotions
🌟 finding calm and gaining control over responses to hard situations
🌟 learning to pause and be thoughtful before acting
🌟 developing a strong sense of self through personal affirmations 
🌟 practicing gratitude for others and for the positive aspects of each day

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am a certified early childhood teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also received the Teacher of the Year Award for my work with young students. 

I have taught mindfulness techniques to my young students for years and have seen firsthand the powerful effect that learning these techniques has had on their self-confidence, focus, and resilience. I have a calm, thoughtful, and nurturing approach to teaching, and I look forward to helping your child develop the tools to navigate the challenges of life and school in a calm, focused way.
