Are you looking for a math class to really help your learner make math skill connections to the real world? This real life math project will do the trick! In this multi-day course, leaners will complete ten math tasks, each one focusing on essential math skills learned in 2nd and 3rd grade. This project will really help your learner see how math is used in real life and why we need the math skills learned. Students will learn and apply, through real life scenarios, the following math skills: -addition -subtraction -ordering and sorting -more or less -parts and wholes -representing numbers -number meaning -mental math -skip-counting -place value -problem solving
If your learner does not have time to complete the tasks in class, they will be asked to complete for homework and send their work to me in a message through the Outschool classroom so that I can check over their work.
Learners will need: -pencil -printed PDFs provided by teacher -markers, crayons, or colored pencils
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
