In this one hour class we will cover how to make biscuits three ways. Chefs can choose which way best suits them best. It is a Choose Your Adventure for biscuits! The base of the class will be flaky southern style biscuits with lots of layers and lots of butter. Chefs can choose to keep their biscuits plain for breakfast. Chefs can take a savory, dinner biscuit turn and make bacon cheddar biscuits. The third Choose Your Adventure option is a sweet, dessert strawberry shortcake option. ...
Learners will leave this adventure knowing: *the key steps to make fluffy biscuits *the secret to tall flaky biscuits *how to use the recipe to make three varieties of biscuits *how to read a recipe *how to measure ingredients both wet and dry
Optional homework is to send pictures of their own choose your adventure biscuits to me. I will provide feedback for the learner.

Your whole family will be able to use it to make biscuits for quite a while. To cook along all chefs enrolled will need the following: *flour *sugar *butter *cream of tarter (in a pinch you do not need this, but your biscuits will not be as tall) *salt *egg *milk *baking powder Plain option: *nothing else is needed beyond the above list Sweet option: *strawberries, sliced *sugar *cool whip Savory option: *8 oz cooked bacon, crumbled *Cheddar cheese

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The chef will be using a knife to cut cold butter. If your chef does not have practice using a knife please feel free to precut the butter for the recipe (3/4 cup) into small 1/2 inch cubes. If your chef would like to make the sweet option the sliced strawberries and sugar can be combined the night before. If your chef would like to make the savory option 6 ounces of bacon will need to be cooked prior to class. If your chef will be cooking along during the class, an oven will be used. Please provide assistance with the operation of the oven and placing biscuits in and out of oven.
