Created by Zumba and BabyFirst, the Zumbini program combines music, dance and educational tools for children ages 3-5 of can’t-stop, won’t-stop playing, learning, and fun! Through play, children will develop their cognitive, emotional, language, and fine/gross motor skills! Each week, students will dance and sing to different original Zumbini music. Dancing encourages freedom of movement with music about animals, trains, etc. Like Zumba, Zumbini introduces many songs from different cultures. When singing, songs will be sung with some improvisation from the students so they can learn how to sing these songs in their everyday lives. One week we may dance with scarves and another week we may play with drums! Every week is fun, different, and interactive! All children learn differently, so some will move and sing along while others may just want to watch. Either way, both learners are able to benefit from this amazing program! Zumbini nurtures your child's love of movement so it becomes a way of life. Silliness and wacky dance moves are not required – but highly, highly encouraged!
Learning Goals
Children will develop balance and rhythm by enhancing motor skills and learning to bounce to the beat, enhance their cognitive skills by simulating both sides of the brain, and develop emotional and language skills through dancing, moving, feeling, and singing.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Please make sure your child is in appropriate clothing and footwear that they can move well in. They should have plenty of space to move around. Also, please have some water nearby. They may drink water at any point during class.
Supply List
A scarf (dish towel, burp rag, or a shirt will work too!) as well as one of the following; sticks, egg shakers, drums. They can be wooden spoons, rattles, pots, or homemade instruments! Have water nearby and throw on some comfy clothing to move around in and you're good to go!
