If you have not already heard, Zumbini® for Schools is an early childhood education program for children ages 2 to 5 years, featuring 4 albums. This classroom will focus on songs from the album 'Kalino Finds the Music'. Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst®, our program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development all masked behind a fun and engaging class. Each class is unique yet incorporates the benefits of familiarity and repetition. These...
We celebrate all levels of participation including kinetic, auditory and visual. The Zumbini program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development all masked behind a fun and engaging class. Be ready for your child to move, sing, dance, watch and listen.
In our flex classes we encourage interaction within the classroom group. Each week I will give you a short activity sheet to complete and share with our group. Your learner will be invited to share a short video of how your video experience went and upload to the group, depending on your learner, it could be a short video of your learner participating in any form during class (e.g. watching, listening, making a choice or following along) or your learner chatting about their class experiences. I celebrate all forms of participation and sharing your journey is optional, albeit highly encouraged.
Please note that we will use one or two out of three home items each week as props during this course, and all three can be replaced by your child's imagination if you can't find one: 1. Small Scarf; or blanket, bandana, hand towel, dishcloth, tea-towel, t-shirt, pillowcase, etc. 2. Drum; or pot, container, bowl, baby formula tin, or toy kitchen pots and pans, etc. 3. Shaker; or toy rattle, empty water bottle filled with dry rice/ pasta/ beans. In week 2 I'll include a bonus craft activity sheet to make a homemade shaker from a printable DIY cylinder + dry rice/ pasta/ beans/ soft drink bottle lids + sticky tape.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parent or caregiver is required to supervise the child during this activity, especially when using props. Parent or caregiver is required to facilitate the learner's interaction in the classroom including printing out the weekly activity when required and helping your learner with video discussion in the classroom if needed. It is important to note that we will dance around and sit on the floor to sing during our Zumbini classes, so it is suggested to utilise a space such as the living room rather than be seated at the kitchen table, etc. While Zumbini is not a fitness program, it does involve quite a bit of movement and you may want to dress your child in comfortable clothing. Please have a large enough space available for your child to dance around and that it is clear of any potential hazards that someone may bump into, etc. Finally, one of the benefits of the flex class is no need for you the adult to stay off camera during class so please feel free to join in with your child! While not at all essential, your child will love watching you join in too.
