Zumba Toning is a fitness class that requires 1 or 2-pound weights. This class will help tone muscles while we dance to fun cultural songs from all around the world. The teacher will explain a little about the genre of the songs in between selections as students drink water or get a breather. Students are welcomed to ask questions, yet this is a fast-paced, follow-the-leader- type of workout. The teacher instructs easy to follow moves using cueing. There is no speaking during a song, only screaming and encouragement!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about various genres of music as they work out.
Students will learn the simple steps of every genre of music represented
Students will burn calories and learn about taking care of their bodies.

Parental Guidance
Using weights: if students do not want to use weights, this class could be a regular Zumba class. Students should be careful on how to use weights and follow instructions given by the instructor. It is very important that weights are 1-2.5 pounds only.
Supply List
water for drinking during a workout weights 1-2.5 pounds ( no greater than this please)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching Zumba Toning for 11 years. This has been one of my specialties as a Zumba Instructor. I currently teach Zumba Toning twice a week in 2 different locations in my city. I am a school teacher of this age group so I am experienced in how to facilitate the students.
