40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different animal each week and explore their characteristics, habitat, diet, family structures and fun facts about each animal. This class will use a combination of slides, lecture, videos and discussions. Students will complete a fun "fact file" sheet for each animal. This class will rotate through different animals, and start again once completed. I love animals and I love to teach others about animals. Having worked with different exotic animals for over 8 years as a zookeeper and wildlife educator, I have lots of funny and entertaining stories to share with my students. Learners will be engaged, and hopefully come away with a greater appreciation for the animal species and nature in general.
Learning Goals
Students will learn characteristics about animals they know and love, and some they might not know exist. They will learn a variety of information on each animal, including but not limited to: description, diet, habitat, social structure, behavior, size/weight, and fund facts.
