The world of Zoology is so immense (and exciting) that sometimes it’s hard to slow down and take a deeper dive into the many layers within the Animal Kingdom. In this ongoing class, we will discuss a new Zoological topic each week. This may include specific creatures or groups of creatures, anatomical or physiological traits, adaptations, careers involving animals, news articles etc. In addition to my own themes and ideas, students will also have input in the weekly themes as well. Learners will dive into the animal world and learn about different species, adaptations, careers, and behaviours of a variety of species.
I have a Bachelor of Science with a major in Zoology and have worked in the animal field for almost 10 years. I have a strong passion for animals and believe I can make this topic fun and exciting for students who are just as passionate and interested!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Topics will range in level of difficulty and some topics may be harder to understand than others depending on your learner's level. For example, animal physiology may include higher level terminology than a week talking about big cats. In addition, some lessons may touch on evolution, predator/prey, and reproduction. Some news articles may also touch on the above when used. Youtube may be used at times to help create a multi-media approach
