US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this 6 unit self-paced course, students will be introduced to the 6 main animal groups ( mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects.) Students will learn about the characteristics of each type of animal and will be presented with many examples of different animals in each group. They will complete a craft based on the animals learned about in each category. Each unit will consist of 1-2 videos that will contain a vibrant slide show and engaging lecture, as well as a step by step explanation and demonstration of that unit's craft. Each video will be about 15-25 minutes long. The students will also complete a short quiz after the lesson. Here is the breakdown of the units: Unit 1: Mammals Craft: Mammals hand print paintings Unit 2: Birds Craft: Birds directed drawings Unit 3: Fish Craft: Construction paper fish Unit 4: Reptiles Craft: Paper chain pythons Unit 5: Amphibians Craft: Frog directed drawing and painting Unit 6: Insects Craft: Fingerprint insect jar Since this is a self-paced class, there will be no live meetings. Students can complete the tasks at their own pace throughout the week. No prior knowledge about animals is required in order to participate in this course. I look forward to teaching your child! Ms. Erin
