Zookeeper Training Course PRIMATE EDITION - MONKEYS & APES (ages 5-10) This course includes all of the fun students have in the Zookeeper Training class, with a specific focus on keepers who work with primates including monkeys and apes. During this class, students will learn what a typical day in the life of a primate zookeeper is like. We will discuss what each of the primates are fed each day, the responsibilities the zookeeper has for caring and maintaining a safe and clean environment for the monkeys and apes and how zookeepers educate visitors about the creatures and their natural habitats. During the class, students will be educated on several types of primates, their eating requirements, natural habitats and interesting facts about each species. This course includes pictures, videos and live visits to zoos and sanctuaries to see some monkeys and apes.

I love teaching students of all ages! I have over 20 years experience teaching students ranging in age from 4 to college level students. I strive to create a fun and engaging classroom where each student is eager to learn and participate. My mission is to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
My areas of expertise are communications and public speaking, but I love teaching science and animal related courses and helping students work on their reading skills. I currently travel around the country doing test prep classes for high school students.
I also have a passion for teaching younger students how to read. I have my ESL certification, a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Business Management from Tusculum University.
