US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten
Zookeeper Training Course (ages 4-6) During this class, students will learn what a typical day in the life of a zookeeper is like. We will discuss the different animals that live in the zoo, what each of those animals is fed each day, the responsibilities the zookeeper has for caring and maintaining a safe and clean environment for the animals and how zookeepers educate visitors about the creatures and their natural habitats. As the teacher, I will take the students on a guided "virtual" zoo tour and talk about my work at the zoo. Students are asked to bring their favorite zoo stuffed animal to class and will be given the opportunity to care for that specific animal during our guided "virtual" tour. Math will be incorporated into the lesson by counting the animals at each stop during the tour.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of certain species of animals while also incorporating spelling and mathematics in a fun and engaging way.

My areas of expertise are communications and public speaking, but I love teaching science and animal related courses and helping students work on their reading skills. I currently travel around the country doing test prep classes for high school students.
I also have a passion for teaching younger students how to read. I have my ESL certification, a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Business Management from Tusculum University.
