US Grade 1 - 4
Welcome students! Our class took a lovely field trip to the zoo when suddenly we got locked inside the zoo! We need to try to escape before it gets dark. Are you up for the challenge? Course overview: Students will follow a fictional story transforming them into students who went on a class field trip to the zoo and ended up getting locked inside the zoo. Students will work together, solving codes, riddles and looking for clues to get out of the zoo before dark! Simultaneously, students will learn zoo facts and animal facts. How does this virtual escape room work? There will be three parts to this escape room. There will be a task in each part (such as figuring out a riddle and or code) and a time limit. If the tasks are not complete within their time limit, I will give students the answer, and we will move on to the next part. Within the escape room, there are fun facts about the Zoo and animals. I will guide the whole session. We will do the escape room together to avoid disorganization. However, I will not be helping students as much as guiding them through the process.

My background:
I have a bachelor's degree in education from the university of Houston-Downtown in Texas, and a TEFL certification. I have been on Outschool for the past three years and worked with students ranging from 3-18 years of age. I used to work with two different ESL Companies, as well as a therapy clinic for children with autism and ADHD. I teach English, Spanish, and other topics that I am passionate about.
What I do:
I have specialized in the art of creating/running escape rooms. I enjoy tying these escape rooms with educational topics! They help students build their social skills, critical/logical thinking skills, and confidence. Plus, students get the opportunity to learn and talk about topics they love!
What I believe in:
I believe that encouragement, patience, and freedom of expression are essential in every classroom. It's no secret that students learn differently, and that education is the key to the future. So, I want to make sure every student is comfortable in class, has their needs met, and has an equal opportunity to speak/participate!
How I got into education:
My journey in becoming a teacher began when I was a lot younger and would babysit my neighbors' kids. I often helped them out with their homework assignments and slowly realized that I enjoyed doing so. I had always been told by my peers and my family that I should consider being a teacher but, I had never given it a second thought until my senior year of high school when I had a fantastic teacher who completely changed my life. From that moment, I was inspired to become a teacher and do the same for others.
I look forward to positively impacting your child :)
Some things I love:
• I love to read! (Some of my favorite books include Harry potter and Wings of fire)
• I love video games! (Especially Nintendo games!)
• My Favorite movie is "Encanto"
Thanks for reading, I am excited to see you in class!!!
