In this fun mindfulness & yoga class students practice kid-friendly yoga poses with a Halloween twist! We start with fun and relaxing Halloween breathing exercises and do yoga poses to go along with a not-so-spooky story about ghosts who like to party and bake bread (and how the house owners finally get rid of them) Halloween yoga poses include: cat pose (aka 'black cat pose') mountain pose (aka 'ghost pose') tree pose (aka 'crooked tree' pose) extended mountain pose (aka 'moon...
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be doing a series of beginner-level yoga poses where students stand, balance, reach, and move onto the floor on their hands and knees. Please let me know if your learner will require any special accommodations or adaptations. Your learner will need a safe and open space to move during class and suitable clothes for physical activity. This exercise is not overly strenuous, but, if your child has any medical issues that may be aggravated by a physical activity like yoga, please consult their physician about the suitability of this class. Also note that the story tell is based on oral tradition, aka a 'campfire story'. It is not a particularly scary story, but just in case, here is the short version of the plot (spoiler alert!): A house sits vacant and neighbors hear music and smell baking bread. Even though the ghosts don't seem very scary, people are afraid because they are ghosts. Eventually, a family moves in and starts baking their own bread and has parties and plays their own music, and this is what lets the ghosts move on.
