In this one-time class, non-musicians will learn the basics of reading and writing songs at the piano using finger numbers. We will learn one simple song together, write a unique song individually, and share at the end of class.

Description
Class Experience
Students will recognize groups of 2 and 3 black keys on the piano keyboard. Students will learn to count and number their fingers. Students will be able to read and play simple songs using finger number notation. Students will be able to write a simple song using finger number notation.
2 files available upon enrollmentPlease print out the two worksheets enclosed or have a blank paper and a pencil ready. Students must be seated at a piano or keyboard to be ready for this class. For best results, place your ipad or laptop at or near the sheet music stand.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
