In this one time course students will learn the enriching and calming practice of drawing fascinating patterns with Zentangle inspired art with a celebration of fireworks!
Class experience
We will start by defining a Zentangle (drawing using a defined space to create repetitive patterns) and understanding the purpose for this art style. The teacher will ask students to note how they are feeling at the beginning of class. (This will be revisited at the conclusion of class.) Then the teacher will show some examples of Zentangles. The goal is for students to have a fun and stress relieving experience while learning this style of art.
This class is the perfect meld of my Bachelor's in psychology and minor in Art! I love working with children, which makes this the ideal class for me to teach!

Drawing paper, pencil, pen, marker. Zentangles are usually black and white. However, this is ART! Therefore, if students choose to use color that will work. Still I would prefer students to make more authentic Zentangle inspired art in black and white. :D
