Week: 1 The teacher will define Zentangle. Then discuss how the Zentangle art method was discovered and the purpose for this art style. Then the teacher will show some examples of Zentangles. The teacher will show examples of how to start a Zentangle. Students will create their own Zentangle project and post to the classroom. The goal is for students to have a fun and stress relieving experience while learning this style of art.
This class is the perfect meld of my Bachelor's in psychology and minor in Art! I love working with children, which makes this the ideal class for me to teach!
Students are to complete weekly assignments, post, comment and respond to classmates.
Drawing paper, pencil, pen, marker optional. Zentangles are usually black and white. However, this is ART! Therefore, if students choose to use color that will work. Still I would prefer students to make more authentic Zentangle inspired art in black and white. :D
