50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
An ecosystem is a bubble of life - a geographical area where plants, animals, and other living things work to survive and thrive. In this class, students learn about the open ecosystem and apply what they learn by drawing an ecosystem. Interesting topics include how animals use ocean currents, up and down migrations within the ocean, and symbiotic relationships. As we go along, there will be lots of opportunities for class discussion and inquiry. Each student will also draw a whole ecosystem, including: -the physical environment -a source of minerals and nutrients -a producer -a symbiotic relationship -a larger predator

Teacher expertise and credentials
Studying Sciences at university gave me a new understanding and appreciation of the world within and around us! I received a university degree in Biology and then added on courses to also earn a degree in Environmental Sciences (Gold medal!). I have taught grade 10 Science and Grade 12 Biology to students in person. I was also a lab assistance for an undergraduate university course. I also have 20+ years teaching communication for Health Care classes online and in person. I also have a university degree in Education and am a certified teacher in my province in Canada. (Interesting note: My native language is English, but I studied education at a French university and did my practicum at a French Immersion high school in my city.)
