The study of the skeleton will begin with an overview of its function. Then students will learn to classify the bones by their structure. With this information, the students will learn specific bones and the way they are assembled to form the skeleton. In class, we will also discuss how the bones articulate with one another to form joints and how they relate to other body structures. Then students will complete a class activity to apply what they have learned in this class. I will provide a guide with information and images about the skeleton and bones. Students should be able to follow the explanation with the guide and they are encouraged to take notes. This is an introductory class therefore previous knowledge is not necessary.
