In this class, students will be introduced to 3-dimensional shapes. We will focus on some of the most common 3-D shapes: sphere, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, and cone. This engaging 25 minute class will include a Powerpoint presentation about 3-D shapes, including a discussion about each shape, their properties and where we can find these shapes in the world around us. Students will improve their knowledge and understanding of five 3-D shapes (sphere, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, cone). Students will relate their understanding of these shapes to the world around them, through interactive discussions and games.
Students will be asked to look for items in their home which are different shapes during our game.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
