This course teaches absolute beginner students the three most basic concepts of Java Programming: - standard output - variables and - standard input. Since even setting up a Java coding environment requires a lot of advanced knowledge and understanding, I will skip the set-up part (as most IDEs do it for you anyway), and jump right into coding. The end goal of this course is for students to be able to make Mad Libs game on their own. The class specifically will teach them the three concepts they need to be able to do this, and they will be expected to apply these three concepts to their Mad Libs game largely by themselves, although I'll of course be there to help them if they run into any trouble.
I will provide a link to an online IDE (Integrated Development Environment) on which they can code along.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
