Peaceful, stormy, mysterious, frightening - what sense do you want to convey with your landscape drawing? In this one time class, we will create a drawing perfect for any storybook. We will work step by step to draw a scene with a house, trees, and a child. By drawing this landscape, learners will learn about composition, perspective, light and shadow, and movement and anatomy. What we will learn: Composition Learners will be taught what to look for in order to compose a pleasing picture. Learners will be able to choose their own composition - where to put their house, trees, and child. Perspective Learners will learn simple perspective in order to draw an accurate house and to create depth within the drawing. Light and Shadow Learners will learn how to use light and shadow to further create depth and believability. Movement and Anatomy Learners will learn about movement and anatomy in order to create a believable child and to bring action into the drawing. Learners will be encouraged to make their drawing their own by voicing what they want the drawing to look like. My drawing was inspired by the Little Red Riding Hood story! Demos and individualized help will be given to each learner. This class will be interactive and learners will be encouraged to talk about what they wish to create. Learners will present their drawing and celebrate at the end of class! Let's start drawing!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I graduated from Grand Central Atelier in New York City where I was trained to draw and paint realistically in a traditional way. While I usually draw realistically, I also enjoy using this approach to draw in different styles. My goal is to teach children the tools of drawing and give them the opportunity to practice applying them so that they will be able to draw what they want independently.
