Class Experience

Students will learn how to set up and use equal groups to solve 1 digit x 1 digit multiplication problems. (3x4=)
Teach someone in your family how to solve a multiplication problem using equal groups.
M&Ms or any other easily item that can be moved that you have around your house. Cereal, beans, macaroni noodles, skittles or something similar in size. You will need 24 M&Ms, more if you decide to eat some. A tray, bowl or a bag to help keep your pieces from rolling away from you. White board and marker OR paper and marker(marker is easier to see on camera than a pencil). We will be using it to draw our own groups.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed through informal assessment and observation by the teacher in class. Students will use equal groups to solve multiplication problems by themselves.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
