Class Experience
Session 1 - Butterfly Life Cycle - Teacher and students will introduce themselves. - Teacher will lead a brainstorming session to activate prior knowledge about the butterfly cycle. - Teacher will give a mini lesson on the different parts of the butterfly life cycle. - Students will watch a brief video about the a butterfly's life cycle. - Teacher will lead students in creating the different stages of the butterfly cycle out of edible materials. 2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In this class, we will be using edible materials (candies, cookies, pudding, etc.) to participate in science activities. Students will be encouraged to taste or eat the science creations. Please read the supply list carefully and verify that your learner is not lactose intolerant or allergic to any of the ingredients. Feel free to substitute any supplies for similar ones that are suitable for your learner. Warning: Please provide your learner with plastic utensils and paper plates to avoid the danger of using glass or sharp items.
