Students will learn basic filming and editing techniques with their iPhone/iPad using iMovie and develop an idea for their very own vlog!

In this class we'll discover what a vlog (video blog) is, how to develop an idea for your own vlog, how to film visually stimulating content and how to edit your vlog for sharing with the world. Students will create their first vlog ... focussing on content, film style and a smooth editing process.
I am an arts therapist/intermodal and teaching artist in all modalities . I'm also a homeschooling mama to 3 and have used movie making as a medium for learning at home! I've taught movie making homeschool co-ops in NJ. It is a wonderful medium to use to engage kids in learning in a multifaceted way. Technology is a way of the future ... let's teach our kids how to embrace it fro their own expressions!!
Each week students will have a film assignment to integrate what was learned in the class that week.
iPhone or Ipad iMovie (the application) An Iphone/Ipad compatible microphone/lapel mics A tripod for your iPad or iPhone A piece of white foam board for light reflection
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will be talking about internet safety and licensing/royalty issues with using content already online. I will not be helping students to open a youtube channel or a place to upload their vlog. This class is about content only.
