Class Experience

This 4 lesson course will guide students through the steps necessary to set up, record, and edit a gaming video so they can share their content on YouTube. This is a self-paced class which means students can go through the material at their own pace. They will have access to this class for a whole year.

In this course, students will need to use a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. The software involved in this class is not able able to be downloaded on any other device. Recording demonstrations will be done on a Windows computer, but students that use a Mac or Linux computer are welcome to join this class if they feel they are able to transfer the info they have learned onto their device.

Online games are best when practicing how to record in this course, however if a learner wants to learn how to record from a gaming console, a capture card will be needed to be purchased and connected before this class. If you need assistance on capture card info, please sent me a message before the class begins and I can offer some resources.

-------------------------------------------------------

For each lesson, a short prerecorded video tutorial will be provided for the learner to watch. These videos will build on each other every week and it is important to complete the weekly assignment before the following week's content comes out.

Teacher will be available in the online classroom or through direct message, for the first 4 weeks of being enrolled in this class. Teacher will be able to offer tips, troubleshooting ideas, encouragement, and other feedback.

-------------------------------------------------------
LESSON 1 OBJECTIVE:
Student will be able to install the recording software called OBS to either their Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. Student will be able to connect up to 4 devices to the software. This will be based on preference. If student does not wish to show their face in their gaming video, they can just add audio.

--------------------------------------------------------
LESSON 2 OBJECTIVE:
Student will practice solving any technical issues that they may have with recording. If desired, they have the option of adding bonus sources. When complete, student will record a 1-2 minute video playing a game of their choice.

--------------------------------------------------------
LESSON 3 OBJECTIVE:
Student will be introduced to an editing software called Wondershare Filmora. They will be introduced to all the special effect options in the program and they will learn to create an intro video for their channel. *

--------------------------------------------------------
LESSON 4 OBJECTIVE:
Student will complete this course by learning how to start their YouTube video off strong by creating a teaser and intro video.

--------------------------------------------------------

*The program Wondershare Filmora has a free edition, however, it will have a large watermark on the video after downloading it. I encourage learners to just use the free version for this class, and after then, they may decide if they would like to get an annual subscription of the program for use on their YouTube videos. I will never require learners to pay for this program.

--------------------------------------------------------
I am looking forward to interacting with your learner!
