Youth Entrepreneurship | How to Turn Your Passion Into a Business

Class
In this one-time class, learners discover the basics of entrepreneurship, what skills are needed to be a successful entrepreneur, and what business the learner can start based on their passion(s).

Class experience

Learners should leave this class with a new business idea and be inspired to take the next steps to make their dream a reality.
I have been a serial entrepreneur since childhood which I attribute to my family. As a child, my family noticed I enjoyed cleaning and organizing. My Grandmother and Uncle would pay me to clean and organize their homes. Soon after that, I realized I could make money doing what I was good at and what I enjoy doing.

In high school, I started my first official tutoring business. This business gave me the opportunity as a teenager to make money doing something I loved to do; teach, motivate, and support others. After highschool, I studied Business Administration at the University of Maryland, College Park.

In 2018, I founded an after-school program in my hometown that I closed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, I have 12 years of corporate real estate and retail banking professional experience.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Each learner will use the third party tool, Kahoot to answer trivia questions during class discussion. A Kahoot account is not required if learners access Kahoot from a computer or mobile device. If the learner is accessing Kahoot from the Kahoot app, an account is required. I will share a direct link to the trivia questions at the beginning of class discussion with everyone.
