I served as a public school music teacher for over a decade in the performing arts and academic music for ages preschool through high school, and adults in a private studio setting. As a music teacher, I was a multi-time recipient of grants to fund the resources to teach music with the way I had it in mind and build forward thinking curriculum. My non-profit organizations allowed me to do teach the way I saw music education (and those organizations still exist today), until I met Outschool!

As an active member of the National Associateion for Music Education, the Percussive Arts Society, and Music Teachers' national Association, I strive to bring the top teaching and learning methods into my classes.

The interdisciplinary experience, learning through a wide variety of activities that teach to the whole musician, and creating projects focused on learner choice and creativity is my goal. Let's make real-world experiences what we do everyday and enjoy our journey together.

My personal learning journey is not over either! I continue to learn for me by taking my teaching past my Masters of Music from the University of Tennessee and am working on the graded exams for ABRSM and ISOM to become a master teacher.
