US Grade 3 - 5
In this fun, one-time class, learners will listen to the classic holiday song, "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" by Thurl Ravenscroft verse-by-verse to analyze the use of figurative language and literary devices. Learners will learn and identify SIMILE, METAPHOR, HYPERBOLE, ALLITERATION, and RHYME in the song, then create their own verse about Mr. Grinch using a printed template and the terms they learned. Learners will share their new verses with the class (singing optional!) and can even draw a picture of their Grinch to post after class! Join us for this seasonal class available only through the 31st of December! Lesson will be taught on Google slides and pdf of handout will be given to complete.
