Description
Class Experience
Students will learn principles of finance, savings, spending, and how to budget. They will also learn life planning, and start to see what they can do now to create a future.
There will be research, if a student wants to know something specific about a college or a job. This homework will be individual. Kids will put together budget sheets, plans, for a fictional scenario.
I will provide budget sheets, but also links to really good online budget services.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be discussing future, including difficult subjects like taxes, mortgages, and other stressful things about being an adult. It'll be fun, but sometimes kids get a little stressed out.
We will refer to several different books on financial fitness, including Dave Ramsay, The Richest Man in Babylon, and many others.
