Class Experience

This is a very interactive class. Students will be engaged in conversation with a group of peers as well as the instructor.

The purpose of this one-time class is to engage the students in a fun, social activity while providing them with an opportunity for introspection and meditation. Students will learn how to prepare a cup of tea as well as how to perform traditional tasseography (tea-reading). Students will also de-mystify the practice as one that is more about focus of the mind; not magic.

Learning Goals

Making a cup of tea, social and discussion skills, confidence, looking ahead, meditation, and self-reflection.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am passionate about helping the middle grades students unleash their own power! I am empathetic for students in this age group because the brain is going through difficult changes at this time: it's like a caterpillar transforming inside a chrysalis before becoming a majestic butterfly. I am a life-long learner and I want to inspire students to develop a mindset for life-long learning, and I do that by offering engaging courses that meet THEIR interests!

My experience includes working with students in the middle grades. I have ran my own Harry Potter summer camp, directed theatrical productions, and worked with both homeschool and public school students.

I specialize in drama, project-based learning (especially Harry Potter), and strengthening soft skills like self-esteem, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.

I love to use my personal time learning something new, hiking, gardening, acting, or connecting with my family.
